Teaching approach

My teaching is research-led and practice-focused. I combine conceptual foundations with implementation, experimentation and critical evaluation. Students work with reproducible computational workflows using Python, Jupyter, Git/GitHub and cloud-based development environments, and are expected to connect technical results to the assumptions and limitations of the methods they use.

In AI modules, I place particular emphasis on modelling problems clearly, understanding algorithmic trade-offs, evaluating evidence, and explaining why a method behaves as it does rather than treating software libraries as black boxes. Current curriculum development also considers how assessment should evolve in an environment where generative AI is readily available.

Programme leadership and quality assurance

I have coordinated the M.Sc. in Software Architecture & Design since 2019 and previously coordinated or contributed to programme leadership across Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Information Design and Web Development. My quality-assurance work has included programme review, curriculum development, assessment design and external examining.
